4 Easy Ideas for Winter Door Décor

It’s time to decorate homes in Collegeville PA for winter. There’s no better place to make a first impression than on your front door.

Hanging a wreath on the door is a time-honored and easy way to dress it up in any season. But if you want to do something a little different, use these ideas to embellish the door of your townhome for the coming season. Just keep in mind that these ideas are best suited for covered porches or sheltered locations.

  1. Make a crochet-hoop door ornament. Cut a piece of holiday fabric to fit a large wooden embroidery hoop. Attach a ribbon and hang it from a wreath hook over the door. If you’re crafty, you can applique or embroider a design on the fabric.
  2. Drape a swag of real or artificial greenery over the door frame. Add in a few sturdy ornaments, lights or ribbons to personalize it.
  3. Wrap your door in heavy gift wrap or a giant printed plastic gift bag. Add a wide ribbon and a bow to complete the look of a gift.
  4. If you love wreaths and want to stick with the traditional look, why not go a step further and enhance it a bit? Replace mass-produced bows with one you make yourself from a more stylish fabric or ribbon. Add pine cones, sprigs of artificial berries or flower picks. Or wrap it with a string of battery-powered lights to illuminate it at night.
