Race to End Hunger 2022 | Manna on Main Street

We’re proud to annually support Manna on Main Street, a local organization committed to ending hunger in the North Penn region by providing food, fulfilling social service and education needs, and conducting community outreach. They serve those in need with the vision “that everyone might be fed.”

Manna on Main Street is just one of three incredible charities we’re supporting during this year’s “Built with Love” campaign. During this campaign, we donate $500 to a local charity (chosen by the homebuyer) for every new W.B. home sold! This year, over $15,000 has already been raised for this incredible cause!

Additionally, we’re supporting Manna on Main Street as a top sponsor of this year’s Race to End Hunger, which you can learn about below!

LANSDALE, PA – As a distinctive Lansdale community event, Manna on Main Street’s 11th annual Race to End Hunger, to be held Saturday, April 2, will include a variety of fun-filled activities for people of all ages. Complimentary hot beverages and snacks from Wawa at the finish line is a notable addition to this year’s event.

Residents can continue to register for the race online until 11:59pm Sunday, March 27. Visit mannaonmain.org/rteh for online registration information. On site registration will be available at 7am on race day, April 2.

“In both 2020 and 2021 we held a virtual-only event, so this is the first time in three years that Manna’s Race to End Hunger will be held in person, and it is shaping up to be more fun than ever,” says Sheldon C. Good, Manna’s Director of Development and Strategic Direction. “This year’s race has both virtual and in-person participation options, and the in-person event has a variety of unique, fun-filled activities you won’t want to miss.”

Wawa, one of more than 50 race sponsors, will have its Community Care Vehicle on site serving complimentary coffee and hot chocolate, in addition to providing snacks and water for race participants at the finish line served by Wawa associate volunteers. Additionally, dozens of community volunteers will support the race, including some lining the race course with cheering bells. Keith Crabbs from We Bring The Fun 365 will make balloon creations on site. The North Pennsmen barbershop quartet will sing the National Anthem.

The in-person, professionally chip timed 10K and 5K races, as well as the Fun Run, start and end at Knapp Elementary School in Lansdale. People of all ages and abilities are welcome to participate, as are persons with strollers and dogs on leashes. The 10K and 5K start together at 8am, with the Fun Run beginning immediately afterward.

Virtual runners can participate anytime, anywhere.

Out of over 50 race sponsors, the top sponsors are: PDC Machines, Brittany Pointe Estates Residents Association, CM3 Building Solutions, Foresite Capital, JBS – Souderton, KJ Plastics, and W.B. Homes.

All proceeds from the race benefit Manna on Main Street, the North Penn area’s largest nonprofit working to end hunger whose vision is “that everyone might be fed.” Manna’s programs include a soup kitchen, food pantry, emergency financial assistance, and Common Grounds Training Program.

Along with Advanced Living Communities, the North Penn YMCA, and The PEAK Center, Manna is a founding partner of North Penn Commons.
