What better way to support our community than to be involved in an event that brings people together to stamp out hunger in the community.
The Race to End Hunger takes place Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Knapp Elementary School located at 698 Knapp Rd, Lansdale, PA. This event includes professionally chip-timed 10K and 5K runs, a 5K walk, as well as a Fun Run that is approximately one mile. This family-friendly event is filled with fun activities for all ages to enjoy!
The Race to End Hunger is Manna on Main Street’s biggest annual fundraiser. The proceeds from the event help provide services for those in need in the North Penn region. Manna on Main Street is a food pantry, soup kitchen, emergency financial aid and education provider, serving neighbors in need in the North Penn region. Their vision is “that everyone might be fed.”
While it is a family friendly event meant to be fun, it’s still a serious race with professional timing by the Bryn Mawr Racing Co. Awards will be given out to Overall and Age Groups, Top 1-3 overall men and women, and top 1-3 in each age group for men and women. There are fundraising incentives for individuals and teams, including long-sleeve tech shirts, zip-up hoodies, and the top team fundraising prize (at least $1500) will be a private movie showing for up to 49 people at Broad Theater in Souderton.
While you’re raising money to stamp out hunger, you can also help the environment by bringing along your old sneakers to be recycled on race day! Sneakers will be recycled by GotSneakers? and proceeds benefit Manna.
Be sure to sign up, register and start fundraising! Even if you can’t take part, donations are always welcome. They’re trying to raise $20,000 this year and they’re already halfway there, but every dollar and donation helps feed more of those in need.
